The opening credits sequence features various photographic and painted views and landmarks of Oklahoma superimposed over the New York City landscape: Sioux Chief “Touch the Clouds” statue; wearing a War Bonnet and Bone Choker (chest plate) positioned atop the Brooklyn Bridge Golden Digger statue positioned atop the Western Gateway Arch of the Statue of Liberty Route 66 located on Major Manhattan “Avenue”. In New York City, in the Manhattan area, there are several “Avenues” that are crossed by smaller numbered streets. Sylvester Stallone is absolutely amazing in King of Tulsa!
Everything he touches turns to gold
In order for Stallone to make a TV show, you knew it had to have a good script and of course, it was going to be made with Taylor Sheridan. Sheridan continues to hit home run after home run. He is the best thing on television right now with amazing shows like Yellowstone, 1883, The Mayor of Kingstown and more, as well as movies like Sicario, Hell or High Water and Wind River.
I mean, come on?
Also one of the other writers is Terence Winters who has written shows like The Sopranos & Boardwalk Empire. There was no way this show would have gone bad with these two at the helm. It has everything you want in a good show: drama, violence, comedy, etc.
